Webinar: The Future of IB Research and Reflections on Building Rewarding Academic Careers


Four seasoned international business scholars share their perspectives on scholarship and careers in international business. Jagdish N. Sheth

Jagdish N. Sheth is Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business, Goizueta Business School, Emory University. He is globally known for his scholarly contributions in consumer behavior, relationship marketing, competitive strategy, and geopolitical analysis. Over 50 years of experience in teaching and research at University of Southern California, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Columbia University, MIT, and Emory.

Dr. Sheth is a recipient of the 2020 Padma Bhushan Award for literature and education, one of the highest civilian awards given by the Government of India. He is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB); the Association of Consumer Research (ACR); the American Psychological Association (APA); and the American Marketing Association (AMA). He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) and the International Engineering Consortium. He is the recipient of all four top awards given by the American Marketing Association (AMA). Professor Sheth has been advisor to numerous corporations all over the world. He has authored or coauthored more than three hundred papers and numerous books.

Dr. Sheth is the Founder and Chairman of India, China, and America (ICA) Institute which analyzes the trilateral relationship and its impact on geopolitics, security, trade, and investment, and the Founder and Chairman of the Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) which supports research and scholarship among Indian scholars in marketing and management. He and his wife, Madhu Sheth, have established the Sheth Family Foundation to support several charities in India and in the United States and the Madhuri and Jagdish Sheth Foundation to support scholars and scholarship.

Saeed Samiee is the Collins Professor of Marketing and International Business at The University of Tulsa. He has contributed to scholarly journals in marketing and international business, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of International Business Studies. He received the AMA Global Marketing SIG’s Significant Contributions to Global Marketing Award (Lifetime Achievement Award) and Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award, as well as Journal of International Marketing’s Hans B. Thorelli and S. Tamer Cavusgil Awards. He is an editor for the Journal of International Business Studies, an Associate Editor for Decision Sciences Journal (marketing and international business), and serves on the editorial review and/or advisory boards of thirteen scholarly journals in marketing and international business. Saeed is an AIB Fellow and a Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Marketing Science.


S. Tamer Cavusgil

Tamer is a world-renowned educator, scholar, mentor, journal editor, institution builder, leader of professional societies, and advisor to executives & international agencies. He serves as a trustee of Sabanci University and a visiting professor at Leeds University Business School.
An elected Fellow of the AIB, Tamer has authored several dozen books and some 200 refereed journal articles. He mentored over 35 doctoral students at Michigan State & Georgia State who have then become accomplished educators themselves. Tamer is the senior author of the leading text International Business: The New Realities, 5th Ed., Pearson Education, with Gary Knight & John Riesenberger.
Tamer holds a BS from Middle East Technical University (Turkey) and MBA & PhD from University of Wisconsin, as well as honorary doctorates from The University of Hasselt and the University of Southern Denmark, in addition to being the inaugural Honorary Professor at Atilim University.
