Manuel G. Serapio, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of International Business and Entrepreneurship at the Business School, University of Colorado Denver. He serves as Faculty Director, Institute for International Business and Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). In his role as Faculty Director, Dr. Serapio has led CU Denver CIBER’s International Entrepreneurship and Digital Globalization initiatives. Professor Serapio is co-author of International Entrepreneurship (with Antonella Zucchella and Birgit Hagen, Edward Elgar, 2018 and forthcoming, 2022). In collaboration with Dr. Patricia McDougall-Covin, Dr. Serapio co-developed and has facilitated the Faculty Development in International Entrepreneurship Program, an IB pedagogy workshop held in Denver, Atlanta, Cleveland, Bangalore, Seoul, Copenhagen, and Kuala Lumpur, and attended by over 500 faculty members and doctoral students from 30+ countries. He co-leads with Dr. Nicole Coviello the 2022 Faculty Development in International Entrepreneurship program to be held on July 10-13, 2022 in Waterloo, Canada.
Nicole Coviello, Ph.D. holds the Lazaridis Chair of International Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research intersects international business, marketing strategy, and entrepreneurship. She has multiple publications in the top journals of all three of these disciplines. Nicole is also co-editor of the Handbook of Measures for International Entrepreneurship Research (with Helena Yli-Renko). Nicole holds a PhD in Marketing and International Business (University of Auckland), an MSc in Technology Management (University of Saskatchewan) and a BComm Hons Marketing (University of Saskatchewan). She is Associate Editor at the Journal of Business Venturing and Consulting Editor at the Journal of International Business Studies.
In 2010, Nicole received an honorary doctorate from the Turku School of Economics for her work in international entrepreneurship and also relational marketing. In 2014, she was ranked as the number two scholar worldwide for International Marketing. She was also ranked eighteenth in the world for International Business, the only female in the ‘top 20’ list for that discipline. In 2018, an international study showed that Nicole has four of the most influential publications in International Marketing- more than any other scholar in the world. In 2020, she was appointed a Fellow of the Academy of International Business. In 2020 and 2021, she was ranked in the top 1% of business and management scholars in the world according to a study from Stanford University.
Sarah Carroll, MPhil, is Founder and CEO of Grow Global, a consultancy specializing in global e-commerce. As a leading expert in global e-commerce, she has propelled thousands of individual entrepreneurs and companies on their international digital journey. She has consulted for multiple e-commerce projects for the UN in Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Jordan, and the UK. Dozens of organizations have hosted workshops and lectures by Ms. Carroll, including HSBC, Google London, Barclays, Banco Santander, Invest Northern Ireland, UK Trade and Investment, Department of International Trade and others.
Her book, Grow Fast, Grow Global: 6 steps to unstoppable international growth in the digital age is an Amazon UK #1 bestseller. Ms. Carroll received her MPhil IT and BSC in European Management Science from Swansea University.
Julie Tracy Lockwood, MBA, MS in International Business, is Associate Partner with IBM Consulting with oversight of the company’s technology platforms and supply chain assets. She manages products for IBM built on IBM Cloud and has led IBM initiatives on Blockchain in the global supply chain. The technology her team builds services the consumer goods, manufacturing and distribution, food processing, and medical and telecom industries. At CU Denver’s CIBER and MS International Business program, she leads the Digital Globalization Instructional Faculty and Business Practice Group and is an adjunct lecturer in the Business School’s MS in International Business program. She received her undergraduate business degree from the Ohio State University and graduate degrees from the Business School, University of Colorado Denver.
