July 2017: Rebecca Goodwin Attends Business is Global Program
Local Atlanta high school student, Rebecca Goodwin (pictured far left), attended the IU CIBER Business is Global (BIG) Summer Language Program with the support of a GSU CIBER scholarship. This two-week program introduces students to less-commonly taught foreign languages spoken in emerging economies, such as Turkey, East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. They learn about the cultures and communication styles of these regions and countries and gain basic understanding of the business practices of these areas.
Thank you so much for the scholarship I received for BIG. I really enjoyed the program and networking with the GBI students, IU faculty, and other participants at BIG. The program introduced the subject of business well, and I am now more interested in possibly doing business in other countries. Before the program, I wasn’t sure about business, but I found the finance and marketing classes to be very interesting. …Thank you, again, for giving me this opportunity to learn more about business and other languages/cultures!
