Congratulations to Ayse Ozturk on her new position at UT-Chattanooga.

Ayse Ozturk, a native of Turkey, moved to the United States in 2007 to pursue a Masters in Marketing at Georgia State University. Not only did she gain her Masters in Marketing, but she also received another Masters in Managerial Sciences before starting GSU’s International Business Ph.D. Program. Ayse successfully completed the program and recently accepted a job at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. While there she plans to teach courses about International marketing and International management. Ayse credits her growth in academia to the structure of the International of Business program and all of the staff in Georgia State’s Institute International Business.

“I don’t think my Ph.D. experience would’ve been the same anywhere else. The department culture was amazing, and there was a broad selection of courses for me to choose from. All the staff were great mentors and gave me invaluable professional guidance. I also enjoyed meeting all of our visiting scholars. They were from a very diverse set of backgrounds, so each one added to the department’s cultural diversity. I especially liked meeting Vassiliki Bamiatzi, Konstantinos Bozos, and Ayse Akyol. It was good to interact with this group of young and productive scholars. The CIBER team also hosted amazing events for networking opportunities like the IB Pedagogy Workshop, and in addition to those events they offered funding to help with our research. I was able to work with so many great people during the program. It really helped me grow as a researcher and an educator.”
